You might have noticed that as we get bigger, it hard to stay as close as we used to. We can use the World Wide Web to help us stay informed. I have the capability to create a secured area on the site. This would mean you have to register the first time and create an account and password. After that you would log-in and access these secured pages.
A Members Directory would be like a phone book of church members. It would list names, addresses, telephone numbers, and email addresses. REMEMBER this will be a secure and encrypted area. The server (Truepath) says they have not had any security problems since they started. I will input the church member roll into the database and only people on that roll will be able to create an account. Only church members can create an account!!
With a bulletin board we would be able to log-in and post messages about sicknesses, deaths, surgeries, and other pertinent information concerning our church family.
On-line Chat will be instant messaging just for church members. Just think of it, log on and see who else is logged on and just start a conversation. Speak of keeping the lines of communication open. I am working with Truepath to see exactly how to set it up but I need you input to see if it is worth while.
Last but not least, with our account at the server we have up to unlimited POP3 mail boxes. I will furnish a guide to show everyone how to set up their email program to receive their mail on their computer. Each mail account will have Virus Protection and Spam Blocker enabled. If any spam should get through, just email the address to me and I will totally block ALL mail from that address.
